Ah Yoda… Small in size is he, yet large in wisdom. –me
I love Yoda. He rocks. In my opinion that pint-sized Jedi is an evangelist in green! Make no bones about it–That old-timer is a soldier for God. Okay, maybe that is pushing it a bit far…or is it? I have been reading through some of his more famous quotes and I tell you this: I am beginning to think that maybe the darkside was a metaphor for more than just Vader and maybe the darkside was/is symbolic of all things evil. Let me use a few quotes to explain what I mean.
“Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering.” –Yoda
Wow, I always loved this one. How I apply it on a larger level: When you submit to your fears, you doubt God’s ability to take care of you. When you don’t “let go and let God”, you allow your fears to grow and they poison your spirit. Often people become angry because they feel they have been abandoned by God… that anger leads to hate. When one is filled with hate, they fail to see that God actually loves them and has their best interest at heart. When someone trusts in the Lord with all their heart… they may feel fear for a moment but if they dig deep and remember that he alone can bring them out of trials, fear will not linger.
WOAH… I was going to delete the last part of that one because I couldn’t apply it to God, but a voice inside my head stopped me and put the words into my head–Sometimes, God tells you what he wants you to say! So, death… when one dies, they transform into the force (their spirit goes to Heaven to be with our creator). We are not supposed to mourn for them or miss them because they are in a better place. They are with the Lord where they are meant to be, where they were called to be. We are not supposed to feel such “attachment” to them as to want to keep them with us, when it is clear that they were/are meant to be with him for whatever reason. The intense attachment that we feel leads to “jealousy” –jealous that we no longer have time with them. Many people lose faith when they lose a loved one. We question God—WHY? We become filled with greed…we want that person back for selfish reasons. This greed and selfishness is wrong. God forgives us for it if we ask, he knows what strong bonds love hold for people. Sometimes God calls people home for reasons we can’t comprehend at the time, but for him it is clear. We must not mourn for those who have “transformed into the force”.
“[Luke:] I can’t believe it. [Yoda:] That is why you fail.”
Come on! This one is awesome! So many people don’t “believe” so they never reap the riches of heaven. Some people have to see things to believe it. True Christians know that to see it (God, Heaven, Christ) you have to believe it first!
“Named must your fear be before banish it you can.”
You have to admit your fears to yourself, but more importantly to God; you have to pray for those things that scare you, only then can you find peace and only then will they be banished.
The funniest thing about Yoda, in my opinion is that he is over 600 years old (by the time we meet him in Revenge of the Jedi) and walks with a cane, he is supposedly near death, yet he is able to do flips in the air and kick some dark-side butt when he has to. That’s great cinema! I also love the fact that Frank Oz is the voice of Yoda. Two of my favorite Green Muppets
What are your favorite Yoda Quotes? Did I miss any other “spiritual” remarks? Feel free to add your own. =)

My absolute favorite is:
“Do or do not, there is no try.”
I use it all the time.
