Great gift idea alert!

I have a fantastic idea for the Man and Woman on the run:  EBOOKS!     I don’t know why I have never thought of this one before, but it makes complete sense.  Many of my friends commute to Manhattan via the subway or the Express Bus and they are avid readers.   Quite a few of them have become huge fans of the Ebook craze.  They swear they will never buy a traditional hard cover or paperback again–they have been bitten by the ebook bug!  For those of you who don’t know what an ebook is, it is a book that has been specially formatted to be read on a computer or hand held reader.  Ebooks are spreading like wild fire due to their practicality; they are so easy to take on the go and they are pretty reasonably priced, PLUS there are tons of titles available from the classics we studied in school, to self help, to today’s favorite crime novels and dare I say it the  Twilight books (which I have not read but I know are being consumed by the masses!). 

     I have been thinking about how great a gift ebooks will make for everyone.  You could give the gift of ebooks to the college students on your list.  What a perfect holiday gift for them for the next semester of school–a gift card to an ebook store online!   ITS ABSOLUTELY GENIUS!  I wish that the ebook had come around years ago when I was in college!  Imagine not having to carry around those text books and novels that we had to carry to classes?   

      How about a devotional ebook for that person who may be struggling this season–many of us know of someone who is dealing with a loss or separation (myself included) and a devotional, inspirational, or self help ebook would make a perfect pick me up gift.  What a wonderful way to say you are thinking of that person and that you support them and are praying for them.  

      How about an ebook on classic cars or golf for the Mr.  or a Guide to gardening for the Mrs. (or what ever other topic that he or she may be interested in).  There are so many genres of ebooks available that you really can’t go wrong!  I was over at an ebook store earlier and they have over 500,000 titles available.  You would surely find something there for  those you love on your shopping list.
