Fulfilling Dreams - Encouraging our children to travel

Hi all! - this is my first post and one of my favorite topics is how much we as Moms influence our children -- and our attitudes can often be what they take with them for life.
I am eternally grateful to my mother, who always encouraged us to travel, and to follow our dreams, and I feel I am like that with my boys.
My oldest just left for a year in the Cayman Islands. He's 28. I just got off the phone with him, and he is absolutely having the time of his life!
He's talking about how he had an aquarium before, where he paid $60 per fish - and now he goes snorkeling and all these amazing, beautiful fish are right around him, swimming free. It is a dream come true for him.
The 2 years I spent in Hawaii, when I was 28, were 2 of the most joyful, exciting years of my life, and it is exciting to see him happy and fulfilling his dreams.
I know many of you have children much, much younger -- and I know that every moment we have them with us is precious -- I am always so grateful for all the precious memories, and the greatest joy is knowing my boys are happy!

That is so great Diana. I never travelled much as a child but I've made up for it now. I love to travel and really want my kids to experience other cultures and places... sounds like your son is having a fab time.
I so agree that our attitudes get passed down to our children! That's so awesome that you've passed down a love to travel and follow your dreams... :)
