I am a List Writer! What are you?

It's close to 11pm. My children are sleeping. Tyson is not barking. It is quiet. Wow! My good friend just left. We are planning a beach trip with our kids. I suggested we make a grocery list for the food. We didn't have a list last time. Can you imagine 4 children/toddlers, two moms, big grocery store, no list but in need of food for three days? Actually it wasnt at all bad--a little stressful at times maybe. But, not bad. Anyways, after the list suggestion, she said you make the list, your good at lists. You write lists.

It made me think. She is right. I do write lists. In fact, lists help me in almost all facets of my life. I like writing things down--be it for a grocery list, a cleaning list, a "To Do" list for home, a "To Do" folder for work, etc... Did I just make a list of my lists???? I also like to cross things off lists.

To get to the point, we all find things that work for us. Lists work for me. They help to keep me focussed and on task especially during very busy and/or stressful times. [That was so weird. As I just typed "focussed and on task", I realized it was one of my first term report PLOs for my Kindergarten class this year.] These things that work inevitably change over time depending on "life".

Knowing and sharing what works for ourselves, our friends, our families, our coworkers opens up the pool of "what works" for everyone to dive in to. Lets go swimming! Splish! Splash!

So, What are you? I am a list writer.

What the heck is a PLO? :-)

I hate lists, but I have to write them for my business stuff or I get WAY off track. For the rest of life, I just wing it.

I thank you for being a good list writer. It's okay to say that I'm the "friend" who thinks you're a good list writer!

I'm a list writer too :-)

I also need to write things down in order for them to make sense to me sometimes.

Like my work plan or if I'm starting a new workout routine or eating plan. I need to see it on paper to focus, LOL.

A PLO is a Prescribed Learning Outcome. They are used in our Report Cards. I also use them for planning my school year. Now that I think about it, they too are part of a big list of things put together for all classroom teachers in B.C. that "need" to be taught to our children from K to 12. I wonder who puts this list together.......
