Mary Kay Letourneau on Parenting

Okay, I guess I shouldn't expect too much from the woman, but I watched a bit of the Larry King interview tonight. He asked her if her kids know about what happened and she claims they know exactly what's going on. She explained it something like this (I'm paraphrasing, but the important words are the same):

They know Mommy broke a rule and had to have a long timeout.

Her oldest child was born in 1997, so is 8 or 9. Even my 3 and 4 year olds know what "break the law" and "jail" means. No, they don't know just how serious jail is, but they know it's a heck of a lot worse than a timeout.

Then Larry King asked if she was going to tell them that she was a registered sexual offender. She said that she would explain it to them when it was necessary and in an age-appropriate way. I hate to think of what explanation she'll come up with.

Ew, ew, yuck, yuck. A grown woman who is attracted to a preteen is a big problem in my book.

Oh my goodness Alice- the irony of your words "age-appropriate" just hit me! LOL!

What would she know about age appropriate?!
