A Way With Words

This morning when we got to preschool my 4 year old daughter and 2 year old son were having a bit of an argument. It turns out my daughter stepped on my son's precious train. He went on to tell her in a very grownup way "That's not very appropriate!" and although she did apologize in a half hearted grumpy way he went on to tell her "Ellie, If you apologize you have to do it nicely or it doesn't count". Well she did and they hugged and made up.

Everyone thought it was very funny, but it was a good reminder to me that kids do copy and learn from everything we do... Obviously, he's heard me use these words many times. I'll have to keep this little incident in mind next time I get the urge to shout at them!
